OUR STORY
Two friends who got tired of misinformation being treated as truth and decided to do something about it.

I value clarity more than conviction - understanding what's true matters more to me than holding a strong opinion. I prefer to slow things down, look for verifiable facts, and form judgments based on evidence rather than emotion. That principle underpins how Tickornot is built.
I come from a humbling upbringing surrounded by people from very different backgrounds and political views. Being exposed to disagreement early on taught me to listen carefully before forming opinions of my own. It's why I'm well-equipped to build a balanced, fair platform that puts evidence ahead of emotion or assumption.
I've intentionally kept my distance from social media for much of my life. Watching it from the outside made one thing clear: confidence and virality are often mistaken for credibility. I don't instinctively trust claims just because they're trending - I want to see what they're actually based on, and that instinct is a big part of what motivates me to build Tickornot.
I come from several different backgrounds, all of which I'm proud of, and I've spent significant time immersed in different cultures and ways of thinking. One common pattern I've noticed across all of them is how quickly assumptions are made in the absence of facts. It reinforced a simple belief for me: the world doesn't need louder opinions - it needs clearer facts and better context.
I'm a creative and ambitious full-stack developer focused on building engaging, scalable digital products that people actually rely on. Throughout my career, I've scoped and developed digital solutions across a range of industries and settings - including finance, startups, freelance work, and founding a company of my own. That experience has given me the technical depth and execution experience needed to build complex products from the ground up.
A centrist focused on clarity and context, committed to evidence over assumption and understanding over reaction.

I'm well-placed to build an objective, evidence-based fact-checking tool because I don't belong to any ideological side - and I never have for long. Earlier in my life I held strongly progressive views; today I'm a centrist who holds both progressive and conservative positions depending on the issue and the evidence. My only consistent philosophy is simple: let the best ideas win.
I'm a atheist, but I have deep respect for religion and the net-positive role it plays in providing structure, meaning, community, and moral frameworks for millions of people - even though I don't personally subscribe to those beliefs. That ability to separate personal belief from observed outcomes is central to how Tickornot is built.
I've lived and worked across the United States, the Middle East, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia. I also grew up influenced by my father's work across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, where he spent decades working in and mentoring me on the realities of politics, culture, and development beyond Western narratives. That global exposure shaped how I evaluate claims, context, and incentives.
Professionally, I've built and worked across charities, environmental initiatives, oil & gas, construction, finance, and technology. I've seen first-hand how the same facts are framed differently depending on ideology, audience, and commercial incentive.
I've also chosen to have no social media presence for over 15 years. Watching its impact from the outside made one thing clear: disagreement isn't the problem - the erosion of shared facts is. Tickornot exists to restore that foundation by separating evidence from narrative, without telling people what to think.
A centrist with global experience across industries and cultures, committed to one principle: let the best ideas win - based on evidence, not ideology.
